Residents of Suryana-gar in Toli Chowki have been harassed by mosquitoes for a long time because of the unhygie-nic conditions, and all attempts to seek GHMC help has been in vain.
On the first Friday of the month of Ramzan, Muslims offered pray-ers at Masjid-e-Noor in Suryanagar Colony. Mufti Maaz Saheb led the prayers, attended by hundreds of Muslims.
Devotees pray for well-being of all, rains
At the Masjid-e-Noor in Suryanagar Colony, residents prayed for the well-being of people, thanked God for good rainfall in Hyderabad, sought His blessings for rains in other parts of the state, and urged him to save people from water-borne diseases and mosquito menace in their locality.
“We have been suffering for four years. GHMC have failed to do fogging and take other steps to check mosquito menace. We had no option but to turn to God,” said Izaz Qureshi, a resident.
Another resident, Mr Farathulla Khan, confirmed that they had sought divine intervention since the GHMC authorities were deaf to their pleas.
