Hyderabad: The 165-year-old Gyan Bagh Palace, also known as Dhanraj Gir Palace, situated in the heart of Hyderabad, is being renovated.

Built in the European style, the palace was one of the most expensive mansions of that era and frequented by royalty.

It was featured in the 1975 super-hit Telugu film Mutyala Muggu when the heroine Sangeetha decorates the courtyard of the palace with a muggu (rangoli) as the popular song Mutyamanta Pasupu Mukhamentho Chaya plays on.

Rajkumari Indira Devi Dhanrajgiriji and her nephew Tejvan Gir Dhanrajgir (Tarun Dhanrajgir) told Deccan Chronicle that the renovation will be done in phases and the work has just started. The family is paying for the facelift, and refused to reveal how much it costs them.

Theirs was the second richest family in the south after the Nizam's family and they were once called the Rockefellers of Hyderabad.

    Greetings!
Please do not mention incorrect information about individuals while writing about heritage buildings of Hyderabad.
I , G.Saatyaki , S/o Seshendra Sharma , here by clarify that my father was not married to Kumari.Indira Dhanrajgir ( This is how her name appears in Makhdoom Mohiuddeen's books ) . It was a nasty affair / relation , opposed by her father and brothers right from the 1st day. She was married to SriKishen Seth , Nephew of
Maharaja Kishen Pershad ( Nizam's Prime Minister) . Indira divorced him and ruined his life. She was going steady with Makhdoom and one IPS officer while her divorce case was pending in the court. She has been writing her Yaden(Memoirs) in "Sabras"Urdu Literary Monthly , published by Eivan-E-Urdu ,Idara ,Erramanzil Hyderabad. She has been narrating her escapades vividly in this episodes. She is popular for her crush for married men . Her father stipulated in his will that she will get her share of property , only if she is married . This is the reason why she forcibly enacted the street play called marriage with my father. She ruined our family , particularly my father's personal and literary life were suffered worst at her hands. Please do not mention her as my father or any body else wife.

    1. Since I was sick I did not go through the comments. I am sorry. Every comment in my report is based on the information given by Indira Dhangrajgir. I have no intention to malign anyone.

  2. There is a limit to false reporting of facts too. It is clear from these images
that only that part of the building in which she lives is whitewashed from outside.
The inside images make it clear that "renovation" is no where in the picture or in near future.
The heir apparent , her younger brother , Mahendra Pratap Gir , is the person who should make it public
whether any such "renovation"is going to be taken up. These pictures show clearly
that the portion of the buildingin which he lives is not even whitewashed from outside. His version of story or his views / opinions
are not elicited by this reporter.
More over this kind of an elaborate news story would be in context only when the building is completely renovated
and some sort of a formal ceremony takes place .
This kind of a mean and meaningless planted story tarnishes credibility of the paper
    Yours Sincerely

  3. One day when swarms of lamps vanish, in the light of a lonely lamp I ask the dumb pillars

“Can’t you liberate me from the disgust of this existence?

I ask those stand still forest flame trees

Which blossom flowers at that very place year after year” can’t you rescue me?

I ask those high roof tops and this Venetian furniture

Which every one feels are greater than me,

“can’t you rescue me from the disgust of this existence?”

All these answer in a melancholic voice

“We have been languishing since more than 100 years
    watching the same unchanging scenes
we are older prisoners than you are” -Seshendra Sharma

    PARDON ME FATHER

I could not rescue him from the clutches of that nymphomaniac and vampire. There may be an exception or two but an average Indian woman desires from the depths of her soul that her husband should live long and she should pass away before him. She performs prayers and fasts on auspicious days for this purpose. She in spite of being 3years elder to him did away with my father in a planned and premeditated manner and I was a silent and helpless witness to it. He suffered 1st Heart attack in November 1997. Cardiologists performed angiogram and advised open heart surgery. Because there were blocks in vessels and one valve was damaged. But she successfully thwarted it and without my knowledge or informing any one got angioplasty done in Mediciti (Hyderabad: AP; India) her plan was to do away with him and live long, and establish herself as his wife through his books. He was succumbing to her blackmail. My overwhelming hunch is that she was threatening him with social insult and humiliation if he parts ways with her. Between 1997-2007, she played football with his body. He used to be hospitalized every now and then with swollen body and heart pain. Because of damaged valve pumping was impaired and water used to accumulate in the system. Every time I used to force her to hospitalize him. He used be in ICCU for a couple of days and recover marginally. After each visit to hospital he was getting debilitated gradually. He was put on wheel chair. He was virtually under house arrest. He was not allowed to speak to friends and family members. Visitors were kept away. He was taking Lasix (Tablet: is a diuretic that is used to treat fluid accumulation, caused by heart failure, cirrhosis, chronic kidney failure, and nephrotic syndrome.) to flush out water accumulated in his body. This creates a painful dilemma in me whether my interference in his health matters was just. As his son it was my moral duty to protect him. But I sometimes feel if I were not to interfere she would have put him to death long ago and thus he would have escaped from physical and mental torture quite early.

Towards perhaps end of the month of March she withdrew medication. He got swollen suddenly and that condition continued till the last day i.e. 30th may 2007. Each time I visited I used to tell that witch to take him to hospital. But after a couple of visits I got convinced that she made up her mind this time to do away with him. I requested a bastard who was feigning to be a friend of mine, who incidentally happens to be a legal luminary of this region to send a doctor friend to that place and ascertain the exact condition of his health. But of no avail.

I kept on telling him to come out of that place and lead a normal and healthy life. Her blackmail gained an upper hand and I lost in my efforts to restore health to him and bring him back to civilized society. O God pardon me for not being able to outmaneuver her machinations. Pardon me father.

  5. By the way, who is the father of Tarun, Sabita, and another brother? Never hear of him. Is he a real brother of Ms Indira D?
and why do they call themselves by their grandfather's name? These stories are so well cloaked...make it seem wonderful, when really, it isn't so.

  6. She has 2 younger brothers , one passed away more than 2 decades ago , other one Mahendrapratap is living in the same premises.
Out of more than 1000 crores of her share of this property , she spends a couple of crores by way biscuits for a set of domesticated canines to cloak her crime -life / reality

  7. Indira Dhanrajgir was the favourite Zarda Pan of Makhdoom Hohiuddeen ( Famous Poet ) Shiv. K. Lal ( IPS) for 3 decades . they are her prime time and the best beneficiaries.
Shrikishen Seth is her worst victim. and my father's is much worse a victim than Srikishen Seth.
Investigate this crime story with integrity. Contact Srikishen Seth's family descendents and other contemporaries of those times.

JUDGEMENT IN FAVOUR OF HIS SON SAATYAKI

    ------------

After 11 long years our Judiciary has unraveled the crime story behind the veil of copyrights.
In my interview ( by Prof.Satyanarayana , Present V.C , Telugu University ) I said the document produced by that lady is a Palace Intrigue and it is vindicated conclusively by the Forensic Analysis and the court. This proves that Father is innocent. He did not yield to her untold pressure and torture. Today this news item has appeared in Eenadu and Sakshi papers in their state pages , Page No 6 in Eenadu and Page 2 in Sakshi. I hereby attach 3 important pages of 19 page long Court Judgment .
