Hyderabad:
Times have changed. Telangana Telugu, Hyderabadi lingo, the language and dialects which used to be looked down and made fun of has become fashionable and money spinner!
Yes, I am talking about Fida, the Telugu flick and other recent hits due to Telangana dialogues. Credit goes to KCR garu for popularising Telangana slang.
And our Tollywood film makers are cashing on it.
Those who made money using Telangana and Hyderabadi slang, dialogues before formation of the State are now making entire film on it and raking cash!
Fida for instance. Dialogues in Fida has gone to extreme level. Abuses included.
Film shot in Bodhan in Nizambad dist had this abusive dialogue.
"Badkao..balsinda Ra...irragodtha.. Badmash...balsinda Ra...bokkal irragodtha".
Hero Varun often repeats Hyderabadi slang " Kiaku" (why).
I believe Badkao dialogue has been removed.
Young and old of all shades are enjoying our languages now. I used to shudder speaking in typical Hyderabadi and Telangana dialect (learnt in my ancestral village Gowdavally in Medchal)in my college days and till formation of State.
Can't forget times when people used to stare at me when I used the typical Hyderabadi word "PARESHAN" (upset), Kaiku, nakko, hao, haula...parso...or Telangana dialects like Peyyi...(body) etc.
Not any more. Telangana Telugu and Hyderabadi slang has now come of age.
Those who ridiculed the language now regale in it!
From comedian Mahamood who popularised Hyderabadi slang to our Ramulamma, nee Vijayashanti who went on to become a MP, to our filmmaker Sekhar and other who have become popular...made big bucks all thanks to our Hyderabadi and Telangana lingo!
