Crumbling infrastructure to be revived.
Age-old infrastructure and the dilapidated buildings will be revamped and reconstructed with the support of state and Central governments.
“You will hear good news soon,” OU Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandram told DC. Asked about the poor infrastructure, Prof. Ramachandram said the varsity has decided to strengthen infrastructure. Proposals in this regard have been sent to the state government and Central governments for aid, he said.
“We proposed to develop infrastructure for boys and girls hostels, administrative building and other buildings that are in a dilapidated condition, lay roads, and revamp the centenary convention building, Tarnaka gate, Vidyanagar gate, automate the library, digitalise classrooms, provide laptops to research scholars among others,” he said.
